Eggman's Egg-Rider scooter, and the Magic Carpet. Note: When you get the Magic Carpet the description
reads "The ancient legendary gear!". However, it also has the ability to make anyone who rides it have the
flying skill. Successfully complete Storm's, Wave's, and Jet's missions to unlock the Hang-On gear, Opa Opa
gear, Super Hang-On gear, and The Crazy gear.
Play Storm's missions to find the following boards and repair manuals. Successfully complete Metal City:
Mission 5 to unlock the Fastest board. Successfully complete Digital Dimension: Mission 5 to unlock the
Fastest Repair manual. Get the Legend board in Babylon Garden: Mission 5 on a hidden rail behind a tower after
the jet. Successfully complete Sand Ruins: Mission 5 to unlock the Legend Repair manual. Successfully complete
Egg Factory: Mission 5 to unlock the Powerful Gear board. The Powerful Gear Repair manual can be found between
two fly rings in Sega Carnival: Mission 5. The Turbo Star board can be found between two fly rings in the
centipede part of Green Cave: Mission 5. The Turbo Star Repair manual can be found on a rail over the river in
Splash Canyon: Mission 5.

If you run out of rings, fall from a ledge and you will reappear with 30 rings.
Faster boosts and stronger attacks
Depending on what level your attacks are, they will last for a longer time and have a paralyzing effect. At
level 1, you will have a short boost and weak attacks; and no paralyzing. At level 2, you will have a medium
sized boost and stronger impact on enemies; and short Paralysis. At level 3, you will have the longest sized
boost and a powerful paralyzing attack on your enemies.
Boosting with Knuckles
While playing as Knuckles (especially on missions), you can boost often to give yourself an edge or complete
the mission on time. Keep in mind that when you punch through objects you will gain air; when you get hit by
objects you will lose air.
Air riding
When "air riding" (riding through the hoops with flight characters), all you really need to do as you go off
most ramps is to move fast enough. No jumping is necessary. Press Square or Circle to boost just before you
reach the ramp to just about guarantee you getting into the air. When air riding, just press the Left
Analog-stick Up to move your character downward, and Left Analog-stick Down to move him or her upward (like a
plane).
Automated trails
To use automated trails effectively, wait for the Analog-stick spinning part to begin. When you spin it, it
fills your air gauge. However if you keep spinning it beyond that, the speed meter will go faster up to a
certain point.
Finding shortcuts
Ramps usually lead to shortcuts. To reach these shortcuts, hold X for as long as possible (without slowing to
a complete stop), then release it at the very edge of the ramp.
Jumping
When you are about to jump to a second floor that is far in front, hold X and press the Analog-stick Up. Then,
jump just when you reach the edge of the ramp. If the second floor is far up from you, hold X and press the
Analog-stick Down. Then, jump just when you reach the edge of the ramp.
Leveling up
Once you collect enough rings during a race you will level up. The stream your character's board leaves will
change colors, and his or her attacks will become more proficient.
Turbulence
To use turbulence effectively, wait for it to appear and ride on it. After you see arrows on the side, move
towards it to gain speed and air. Also, it is an effective way to get in position to pass and hit an opponent.
Trick sets
Each character has three sets of tricks that can be done. To see all three sets you must use the skates,
boards, and motorcycles.
Billy Hatcher And The Giant Egg reference
In Sega Carnival, when you get shot out of the cannon you will turn into a ball. With Sonic, you will turn
into a white ball with blue polka dots. This ball resembles an egg from the game Billy Hatcher And The
Giant Egg.
Voice announcer
While playing as Shadow, perform a few tricks. If you listen closely, you can hear the announcer say "She has
made a perfect landing!" or "She landed perfectly and has taken advantage of the speed boost."
Wrong dialogue
Before the Dark Desert race, there is an intermission sequence showing Storm holding a chip-looking object.
When everyone starts to read it, Storm will say "It's about the Babylon treasure from our ancient ancestors.",
but it reads "It's about the Babylonian treasure from our ancient ancestors."
Shortcut in Babylon Garden
Go past the first ramp and first turn and you will see boosters. Ride into one and you will see a small ramp.
Make sure your jump is at maximum without slowing down, and hold the Analog-stick Up. If done correctly, you
will ride the turbulence that will shortly be created by a jet. Another shortcut is near the end of the track.
When you see the end of the turbulence created by the jet, you will see a ramp. Go forward and make your jump
maximum without slowing down, and hold the Analog-stick Up. If done correctly, you will cut half of the
automated trail and reach the top faster.
Dark Desert: Mission 4 tips
Make sure to trick off the three drop-offs. When you get to the weird part, take the Speed route instead of
the Flight route. There are three jumps on this one instead of two.
100 rings in Egg Factory
Go past the part where you get blown into the air by a vent. You should see a machine with spinning
cocoon-like objects. Go inside of it to find a capsule with 100 rings.
Avoid losing speed in Egg Factory
Instead of losing speed when hitting the lava, boost through it to keep your velocity.
Shortcut in Egg Factory
After the part with the falling lava, turn to your right and you will see signs. One of them is crooked. Ride
into it to smash through and reveal a shortcut.
Shortcut in Green Cave
When you see the first ramp near the end of the stage, get your jump to maximum height without slowing down.
Make sure you are going at maximum speed and hold the Analog-stick Up. If done correctly, you will hit three
spider webs and cut off part of the track. Additionally, when you get to the part where you are about to go
onto the centipede thing. To make the centipede get to the opening faster, before you go on the centipede
